After many fans raised concerns regarding this cost means for prospective Take-Two matches, and even next-gen video games generally, Zelnick was given the opportunity to explain this impactful choice and assist countless gamers to make peace with this MT 2K21 price point. Instead, Zelnick provided something...a little less reassuring.

"There has not been a cost increase for frontline names for a really long time, in spite of the fact that it costs an excellent deal more to create those titles," Zelnick said of NBA 2K21's raised price. "And we believe with the value we provide consumers...and the type of adventure you can only have on these next-generation consoles, that the cost is warranted. Nonetheless, it's easy to say that when you're delivering extraordinary quality, and that is what our company prides itself on doing."

With due regard to Strauss Zelnick, Take-Two's employees, along with the NBA 2K21 group, we're not sure that statement justifies NBA 2K21's next-gen cost. There are things about the choice of words which are downright about of Zelnick. To be clear, this is not an argument against whether or not there must eventually be games. While I tend to side with former PlayStation executive Shawn Layden who said that the ideal way to combat rising game costs may be to focus more on smaller titles, the fact is that games are eventually going to be more expensive to purchase.

This isn't an indictment of NBA 2K21 for PlayStation 5 along with Xbox Series X. While NBA 2K21 was a small mixed bag at the minds of many fans, it's completely possible that NBA 2K21 will help turn things around. The problem here is using the idea that Take-Two and NBA 2K21 developer Visual Concepts have apparently figured out something about gaming which eludes other game studios. That is what Zelnick seems to imply by saying that"it's easy to say that if you're delivering extraordinary quality"

And it is certainly what he seems to be implying when he had this to say about Ubisoft's choice to never raise AAA game prices at the start of the following video game generation:"Obviously, we do not speak for the business and the industry naturally does not coordinate on these matters, to say the least. The pricing has to reflect the standard of the expertise, and we plan to give the very best experiences in the enterprise." The issue with that statement has nothing to do with the concept that Take-Two's studios don't know how to craft quality experiences. They surely do. The dilemma is that the concept that"the sector obviously doesn't match on these matters" is, even in the instance of the upcoming video NBA2king game creation, not necessarily true.

Earlier this year, Microsoft revealed a wise Delivery program that allows players to upgrade certain Xbox One titles to their Xbox Series X variants. In an interview with The Washington Post, Xbox boss Phil Spencer reported that part of their motivation behind the Smart Delivery app can be credited to accountability. "It's a set of expectations clients should have for content."
