New World PTR is testing new content

Since the launch of New World PTR, as long as there is new content, players can experience it in advance. More recently, Amazon introduced Endgame improvements and the Umbral Shard system, which is being tested on the New World PTR.

Endgame expeditions in Amazon’s MMO New World will become more difficult if players will take on the challenge. This also means that players need to buy more New World Gold to meet such challenges. Expedition modifiers called Mutators, and 10 additional difficulty levels for each Mutated Expedition, are currently being tested in the game’s public beta area.

After completing the Mutated Expedition, players will be rated based on speed, number of enemies killed, and the number of times players died or eliminated during the expedition. Players can unlock higher difficulty levels and earn better rewards, such as New World Gold, by scoring high enough.

Another major addition being tested on PTR is the new Umbral Shard system. This new resource provides players with 600 Gear Scores a way to increase the power of these items to 625. Amazon says it’s important if players want to dive into the higher difficulty Mutated Expeditions or get competitive. Shards can be got in several ways, including completing lower level Mutated Expeditions and buying them for New World Gold. Players need a corresponding Expertise level of 600 to apply Umbral Shard to an outfit.

While Mutated Expeditions and the Umbral Shard system are the biggest talking points, there are some other changes to the PTR as well. The Expeditions loot table has also been tweaked, along with some other minor changes. Players are thrilled recently, and their desire to buy New World Coins is also increasing. This is great news for Amazon Game Studios. They also hope to return to the peak period as soon as possible.
